St. Charles (Special) Wilbert M. Kale passed away at his home in Hanley on Sunday, Feb. 22, after an illness of several months. He was born in Scott township near Peru in 1866, but had lived near St. Charles for many years. Funeral services were held in St. Charles Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

ST. CHARLES

Wilbert M. Kale died at his home in Hanley February 22. He had been in failing heath for some time. He was 74 years of age. He was a well respected citizen and had lived his entire life in this community. On November 29, 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Lulu Howard. Three children were born to this union. His wife, two daughters and three grandchildren survive him. He was an active member of the Methodist church, having belonged to that organization for many years.

Last Rites Held For Wilbert M. Kale, 78

Funeral services were held last Tuesday in the St. Charles Methodist church for Wilbert M. Kale who died Sunday morning, following a lingering illness. Rev. L. M. Kirby conducted the services and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Wilbert Kale was born in Scott township near the Elm Grove church, February 14, 1868 the son of James and Reuah King Kale. He grew to manhood and spent his entire life in this community. He was united in marriage to Lulu Howard November 29, 1905, and they were the parents of three children. One son Harold died June 25, 1932, and one adopted son, Robert Russell Kale, who succumbed at the age of three years,

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. M. R. Balmer of Oregon and Mrs. Lester Johnson of Grant, Iowa; two brothers, Lester of Los Angeles, California; Ora of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and two sisters, Mrs E. E. McNeeley and Mrs. Ora Husted of Des Moines.
