Judson N. Walker, a prominent Madison county farmer for the last 40 years, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1959, at his home south of Pitzer. He was 80 years of age.
Mr. Walker was a native of Illinois, where he was born in Ford county on July 7, 1879, a son of Julius and Alfretta Miller Walker. As a child, he left Illinois with his parents for Kansas, where he lived until he was about 20 years old. He then moved to Adair county, Iowa, where he spent 20 years before coming to Madison County.
He was married at Orient on March 12, 1902, to Ida Reed, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Doris Wharff of Winterset; five sons, Elton Walker of Tempe, Ariz., Cecil Walker of New Virginia, the Rev. Wesley Walker of Phoenix, Ariz., Rex Walker, at home, and Harley Walker of Clarion. He also leaves nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters,Mrs. Jennie Penn of Maywood, Calif., and Mrs. Phoebe Ryan of Winterset.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Pitzer United Presbyterian church, in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed. Burial wil be made in the Winterset cemetery.
