MRS. J. A. HIRST DIED MONDAY AT ESSEX

Funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian church in Essex Monday for Mrs. J. A. Hirst of that community. She was the mother of Mrs. Wilbur Callison of Winterset.

Mrs. Hirst who was 80 years of age, had been in failing health for several years. She died at the hospital in Shenandoah Friday.

She is survived by eight daughters, a son, 20 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Her husband and a son preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Callison were summoned to Shenandoah Thursday by the critical illness of her mother. Among those attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. Herb Callison, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Callison, Mrs. Dwight Ganoe, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huston, and Mrs. Jim Hochstetler of Ames.

Jim Hochstetler of Ames, Kenneth Callison of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Beverlin and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ham who were unable to attend the services were in Essex Sunday.
