Wednesday, March 8, 1972Mrs. Hircock Dies at 77 Years
Mrs. Everett Hircock of near Winterset died Wednesday, March 1, at Memorial hospital here, at the age of 77 years.
Mrs. Hircock had been a resident of Madison county since 1913. She was the former Winifred I. McCoy, daughter of Roy and Minnie Dusher McCoy, and was born in Illinois on May 18, 1894. The family moved to Oelwein, Iowa, in the early 1900s and to Madison county in 1913.
She was married Feb. 20, 1918 to Everett A. Hircock who survives her.
Mrs. Hircock attended high school at Oelwein, and Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and taught school for five years.
She was a member of the West Star Methodist church.
In addition to her husband; she leaves a son, Edward C. Hircock of Earlham; two daughters, Mrs. Dean Robinson of Winterset and Mrs. Wayne L. Welch of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Ed L. McCoy of Dexter. One son died in infancy.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Newton Coughenour. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
