Mrs. Mary Hircock Born Near Winterset in 1858
Mrs. Mary E. Hircock, a resident of Madison county since pinoeer days, died last Friday, Aug. 11 at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset.
Mrs. Hircock was 92 years of age. She was born Aug. 1, 1858, on a farm west of Winterset and lived all her life in Madison County. She was a daughter of William and Caroline Bird Brinson.
She was married Nov. 10, 1886 to William F. Hircock, whose death occurred Feb. 13, 1948. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Clara Mabel, who died in infancy, and a son, Floyd L. Hircock, whose death occurred in 1926.
She was active in the Winterset Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Winterset tent, Daughters of Union Veterans.
Surviving are a son, Lannie R. Hircock, a daughter, Elsie C. Hircock and four grandchildren, all of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Richards Funeral home in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
