Ora M. Clampitt, eldest daughter of H. T. and Alice C. Clampitt was born in Guthrie county, Iowa, May 25, 1883 and departed this life at the age of 60 years, nine months, and 28 days in San Diego, California, at the home of her youngest daughter Cecile Maxine Branch.

On April 8, 1906, she was united in marriage to William W. Clements of Earlham, who proceeded her in death September 27, 1924. To this union three daughters were born, Eva Louise Sulgrove of Forsyth, Missouri; Edith Marie Wingerson of Juneou, Alaska, and Cecile Maxine Branch of San Diego, California, all of which survive this loving and devoted mother.

She also leaves to mourn her loss five grandchildren, Mary Lou and Billy Lee Sulgrove, Richard and Donald Wingerson, Barbara Mae Kline, and five sisters and three brothers, Mrs. S. E. Stringer of Paso Robles, California; Mrs. R. F. Branson of Dexter, Iowa; Mrs. Chester Fisher of Pleasantville, Iowa; Mrs. W. H. Throckmorton of Storm Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Russel Krusenstjerna of Sioux City, Iowa; S. F. Clampitt of Adel; W. D. Clampitt of Johnston, Iowa, and J. W. Clampitt of Long Beach, California, who recently sailed for Iraq, Asia. One sister, Mattie M. Reed, her father and mother preceeded her in death.

Ora's early life was spent around Monteith, moving to Madison county when she was married, this being her home, with the exception of three years spent in Kansas and at Pleasantville, until the death of her husband in 1924. Since this time she lived in Harlan and Exira. The past year being spent in California.

At an early age, she was led to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, uniting with the Church of Christ of Monteith, Iowa.

Her father was a Christian minister, and she loved to be with him, play the organ and help with the music. She studied music at Drake University for a time.

Due to the poor health of her mother she had to take the place of her mother many times.

Ora was a noble woman, full of grace and good works, she had a fine personality, a frank, open and beautiful life that won and held the respect of all that met her, she stood at all time firm, for that which was right. Her greatest desire was to be doing something for her loving daughters, she was always ready and willing to give a helping hand to all she could.

Funeral services were conducted from the Earlham Christian church March 28 at 2 p.m. by Rev. C. P. Shepard, under the direction of Welch Funeral Service. Interment was made at the Worthington cemetery.
