RICHARD LEE WALKER

Richard Lee Walker, 18-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alec Walker of Winterset, was instantly killed this Tuesday noon, Nov. 16, 1965, in the crash of the car he was driving. The accident occurred about 1 p.m. as the youth was coming down the North Branch hill on Highway 169, seven miles north of Winterset.

Richard Lee Walker was a senior student at Winterset High school, where he was a member of the wrestling team.

He was born at Iowa City Oct. 8, 1947, a son of Fred Alex and Florence Duff Walker. His entire life was spent in Winterset.

Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Junior Allsup of Winterset and Mrs. Jack Weller of Truro; and five brothers, Leon, Nick, Tom and Ronald Walker, all of Winterset, and Fred Walker of Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the First Christian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. William Bowles. Burial will be made at Pleasant View cemetery in Webster township.
