Mable Ruth Walker, 81, of Creston died April 29, 1998, at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center.
Graveside services were held May 4 at Greenfield Cemetery.
Mable Walker was born Dec. 13, 1916, in Warren County to Asa and Zoa Weeks Killion. She spent her early years in Warren, Union and Adair counties. Following graduation in 1936 from Orient High School, she spent the next several years teaching school in Adair and Madison counties, then worked as a bookkeeper in Corydon, Iowa. Ruth married Harley K. Walker on March 15, 1947, at the "Little Brown Church in the Vale" in Nashua, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a nephew.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Glenn of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Joyce Gillogly (husband Dan) of Omaha, Neb.; one grandson; one sister, Nola Rogers of Macksburg; one brother, Dale Killion (wife Marg) of Orient; and several nieces and nephews.
