IDA WALKER DIED AT 93

Mrs. Ida M. Walker, a resident of Madison County for many years, died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Wintersest last Wednesday, January 23, 1974. She was 93 years of age.

Mrs. Walker was born near Orient, Iowa on May 25, 1880, the daughter of Andrew and Ellen Mock Reed. She was a graduate of Orient High School, and taught school for several years prior to her marriage to Judson N. Walker of Orient at her parents' home on Mach 12, 1902.

Mrs. Walker resided with her husband on farms in Adair and Madison Counties, living most recently on a farm near Pitzer in Jackson Township. She was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by six children: Elton of Coolidge, Ariz.; Rex and Cecil of Winterset; Wesley of Arkadelphia, Ark.; Mrs. Doris McKee of Dixon, Calif.; and Harley of Orient. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, as well as two brothers: Harley Reed of Greenfield, and Donald Reed of Creston.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, and four brothers.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, at the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jerry Evelsizer, assisted by Rev. John Walker, a grandson of Mrs. Walker's, conducted the services. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
