ALBERT CECIL WALKER, Winterset

Services for Albert Cecil Walker, 83, Winterset, who died Sept. 28, 1988, at the Bethesda Care Center where he resided, were held at the Grace Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 30, with the Rev. Gary Worsham and the Rev. John Walker officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Adair County on April 9, 1905, he was the son of Judson and Ida Reed Walker. Mr. Walker was a retired farmer and cattleman and had spent his lifetime in Winterset and Madison County.

On March 15, 1936 he married Bessie Irene Headley at Osceola. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Charles of Manhattan, Kan., James of Toledo, Iowa, and John of Westfield, N.C.; a daughter, Esther Walker of Ames; brothers, Elton of Creston, Rex of Winterset and Harley of Orient; a sister, Doris McKee of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother.

WINTERSET, IA. — Albert Cecil Walker, 83, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Bethesda Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church, and burial will be in Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was born in Adair County and lived in Madison County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and cattle raiser and a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are three sons, Charles of Manhattan, Kan., James of Toledo and John of Westfield, N.C.; a daughter, Esther Walker of Ames; three brothers, Elton of Creston, Rex of Winterset and Harley of Orient; a sister, Doris McKee of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
