ALEC WALKER Sevices Friday

Funeral services for Fred Alec Walker, 85, of Winterset were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, 1979, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery with Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Mr. Walker died March 28, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 23, 1893, in Madison County, he was the son of Charles F. and Clara Green Walker. On February 23, 1936, he was married to Florence Mable Duff in Winterset. A lifetime resident of Winterset, Mr. Walker was a mechanic and retired in 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Richard, Leon Alec and Mickey James, and a stepbrother, Carl. Survivors include his wife, Florence, three sons, Fred of South Dakota, Ronnie of Winterset, and Tom of Des Moines; two daughters, Doris Weller of Truro and Joyce Allsup of Winterset, a sister, Ruth Miller of Adel, and 10 grandchildren.
