Orie Hildebrand, Winterset

Orie Jackson Hildebrand, 94, of Winterset died Dec. 19, 2003, of pneumonia at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Gerald Naber officiating. Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Madison County.

Orie Hildebrand was born Aug. 21, 1909 in Madison County to James Earl and Maude (Young) Hildebrand. On May 1, 1930, he married Rosie Whitlow in Adel. A lifetime resident of Madison County, Orie had worked for Booneville Sand & Gravel for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Richard Hildebrand and Larry Hildebrand; and a brother, Orson Hildebrand.

He is survived by a son Phil Hildebrand of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
