Edward I. Wald, 93, of Winterset died of renal failure Jan. 10, 2003, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 13, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Gary Freeland officiating. A private burial of the cremains will be in Winterset Cemetery.
Edward Wald was born Jan. 6, 1910, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to Moritz and Anna (Smilovitch)Wald. On Feb. 18, 1969, he married Madelyn Field. Edward had been a truck driver. A resident of Winterset since 1983, he had previously resided in Chicago, Ill. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs and the Warehousemen and Helpers Local 1734 of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Etta.
He is survived by his wife, Madelyn, of Winterset; a stepson, Gary L. Carnes of Indianola; a stepdaughter, Sandra Plafcan of Caddo, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
