RUTH WAKEFIELD, Stuart

Ruth L. Wakefield, 82, of Stuart, died of a respiratory ailment Jan. 27, 1996 at the Community Care Center in Stuart. Funeral services are today, Jan. 31, at 1:30 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor Terry Kerr will officiate the services and burial will be at the Greenfield Cemetery.

She was born in Adair County on Aug. 9, 1913 to Ernest and Elsie (Head) Carl. She married Harold Wakefield on Aug. 30, 1936 in Missouri. She was a cook for 23 years at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was a homemaker and had lived in Madison County for the past 50 years until moving to the Community Care Center in Stuart. She attended Oak Grove Community Church in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; one son-in-law; and one daughter-in-law.

Surviving relatives include one son, Dwayne Wakefield and wife Janet of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Eunice Coffman and husband Don of Catamos, Honduras, June Murphy and husband Charles of Winterset, and Donna Neideigh and husband Ben of Stuart; one sister, Florence Jensen of Eugene, Ore.; two sister-in-laws, Ocia Carl of Greenfield and Pansy Wakefield of Fontanelle; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
