Harold Emerson Wakefield, 86, died July 19, 1993 at Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were held today (Wed.) at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Kerr officiating. Burial was at Greenfield Cemetery.
Mr. Wakefield was born October 14, 1906 to Emerson and Crystal (Harsh) Wakefield in Adair County. He married Ruth Carl, August 30, 1936 in Missouri. He moved here in 1946 and was retired from farming.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving relatives include his wife Ruth of Winterset; a son, Dwayne Wakefield and wife Janet of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Eunice Coffman and husband Don of Honduras, Central America, June Murphy and husband Charles of Winterset, and Donna Neideigh and husband Ben of Greenfield; a sister-in-law, Pansy Wakefield of Fontanelle; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
