Leonard W. Hiatt, Golden, Colo.

Leonard W. Hiatt of Golden, died May 11, in a Denver hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1915 in Peru, to Bain and Mary (Bobert) Hiatt. He was 71 years old.

Mr. Hiatt was a retired steel worker for CF&I Steel Corporation. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was of the Methodist faith. He attended Bethel Methodist Church while living in Pueblo. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 2, Pueblo.

He came to Pueblo for health reasons in 1947. Mr. Hiatt's career with CF&I encompassed 30 years, ending with his retirement in 1976. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Denver to make their home near their daughter. Winter months were spent in Mesa, Ariz. Mr. Hiatt enjoyed fishing.

He married Ruby A. Miller April 19, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo. She survives, as do daughters; Linda Harris of Golden and Julia Calhoon of Ontario, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brothers, Clifton Hiatt of Canon City and Morris Hiatt of Winterset.
