M. E. HIATT OF CRESTON DIED AT 79 YEARS

M. E. Hiatt of Creston, died Monday, Oct. 22, after a week's illness. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Hiatt was born at Peru, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hiatt, and lived here until after his marriage. He and his wife had lived in Winterset for a short time, while she was employed as a nurse at Madison County Memorial hospital.

Funeral services and burial were held last Thursday at Creston.

He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Dale Hylton of Winterset, and Mrs. Coral Hulbert of Des Moines; and a brother Jessie Hiatt of San Diego, Calif.

Mrs. Lloyd Bergmann and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hylton of Denver Colo., who came to attend services for their uncle, were guests here at the home of their mother, Mrs. Dale Hylton. Jessie Hiatt of San Diego was here for the services also and was a guest in the home of his sister, Mrs. Hylton.
