OBITUARY

Dora R. Curts, daughter of George W. and Almeda Curts was born December 27, 1874 at the family home near Kennedy Station, Dallas county, Iowa.

In the spring of 1885 the family moved to a new home in the Bear Creek neighborhood north of Earlham, Iowa. Here Rosa and her twin sister Dollie attended the Bear Creek school and grew to young womanhood.

On March 10, 1897 she was united in marriage to Frank R. Coulter. They made their home on the farm where their oldest son Clarence and family now live. To this union five children were born: Inez Bernice, Clarence F., Reece M., Glenn C., and M. Louise.

After the death of the husband and father, October 21, 1931--Glenn and his mother moved across the road where they were comfortably located until their house burned in February, 1944.

Dora Coulter was a faithful member of the Bear Creek Friends Meeting. She loved the church. She liked to meet with christian friends to worship and praise her Father whom she loved and served. She belonged to the Missionary Society and was a local member of the Burden Bearers Sunday School class.

Again the call has come for one to pass from time to eternity, thus taking a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend and helper whose life has contributed to the best in our community.

In the early morning of July 14, 1944, she was called to her Heavenly Home at the age of 69 years, six months and 18 days. Her husband, daughter Bernice and grandson Lyman Reece have preceded her. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Clarence F. and Glenn C., who reside in the Bear Creek neighborhood--Reece M., Linden, Iowa, and Mrs. Carl E. Pearson, Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, Eloise, Martha, Eldon, Marvin, James and Franklin Coulter; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Benson and Mrs. Tom McGrew, Earlham, nephews, nieces and many friends.
