Neva Dell Waggoner, 86, of Mercy Hospice in Johnston, died of congestive heart failure July 20, 2004

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 24, at the West Des Moines Christian Church. Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery.

Neva Waggoner was born near Macksburg and had resided in Webster City and Ames before moving to West Des Moines, where she lived for 33 years. Neva, an accomplished accompanist and vocalist, taught piano and directed choirs. She was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Webster City, of which she was the organist. She also had been active in women's clubs and was the Civic Newcomer Hostess in Ames and Helpful Hostess in West Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don.

She is survived by two sons, Elwin Waggoner of Wyandotte, Mich., and John Waggoner of Urbandale; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
