Hazel Hester, Earlham

Hazel M. Hester, 87, died of a stroke April 25, 1993, at Earlham Health Care Center. Funeral services were held April 28 at Friends Church with Pastor Kirk Harrison and the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Hester was born near Stuart on October 10, 1905, to Orren and Ethel Heichel. She married Russell Hester in June, 1927. She was employed for 20 years at the Chapler-Osborn Clinic in Dexter. She also worked at the Earlham Care Center. She was a member of Earlham Friends Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, one brother and one sister.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Robert Hester of Earlham, and Harold Hester of Durango, Colo; one daughter, Zelda Oblinger of Iowa City; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral for Hazel M. Hester, 87, of Earlham was held April 28, 1993 at the Friends Church at Earlham, with burial following at Earlham Cemetery. Mrs. Hester died of a stroke on April 25 at Earlham Health Care Center.

The daughter of Orren and Ethel Heichel, she was born near Stuart on Oct. 10, 1905. She married Russell Hester in June 1927. She worked for the Chapler-Osborn Clinic for 20 years, and when the hospital closed in 1976, she worked at Earlham Care Center. She was a member of the Earlham Friends Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; by her parents; by a brother, Vernard; and by a sister, Mabel Hutzell.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Hester of Earlham and Harold Hester of Durango, Colo.; a daughter, Zelda Oblinger of Iowa City; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
