Cora Alley Died Tuesday

Mrs. Harry (Cora) Alley, 62, of Winterset, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Mercy hospital in Des Moines following a brief illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alley will be held this Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Friday Services For Cora Alley

Cora Ilene (Miles) Alley of Winterset died Tuesday, October 2, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 62. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 5, at First United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating.

Born on January 28, 1917 at Patterson, she was the daughter of Ernest and Bertha Crossley Miles. She was married to Harry R. Alley on November 6, 1938 in Winterset.

A lifelong resident here, Mrs. Alley was a member of the Order of the Pythian sisters, having held all the offices, and was serving as first vice-president at the time of her death. She had also held all the offices in both Child Welfare and the American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Hannah Church Circle.

She is survived by her husband Harry; a son, Harry M Alley of West Des Moines; a brother, Milo Miles of Winterset; two sisters, Neva Stewart of San Gabriel, Calif. and Freida Handy of Lakewood, Colo., and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
