James Strong, 60, Died Tuesday

James Strong, second son of William and Mary Davis Strong was born July 14, 1881 near Winterset, Iowa, and passed away at the home of his nephew Sheldon Strong on July 8th at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 24 days.

At an early age he moved with his parents to Earlham, where he lived the remainder of his life, with the exception of two years spent in California.

Jim as he was known to his family and many friends was a sufferer from an incurable disease for several months, but through it all he was patient and uncomplaining.

He is survived by his five brothers, Charles of Minot, North Dakota, Elvin and Elvis of Stuart; William of Des Moines; and Albert of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Kessner of West Des Moines; and Mrs. Edith Reed of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
