Ernest Heskett, Winterset

Ernest M. Heskett, 86, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment Dec. 3 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Graveside services were Dec. 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. A memorial service was held at the church.

He was born in Des Moines and had lived in Van Meter from 1979 until 1987 before moving to Winterset. He had been employed as a grocery clerk and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a former Van Meter City Council member.

Surviving relatives include one sone, Gene of Bridgeport, W.Va.; four step-daughters, Kathrine Collins of Newton, Anna Belle Sheets of Des Moines, Hannah Coney of Ames and Rosalie Baker of Van Meter; one step-son, John Gronwald of Van Meter; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildfen and step-great-grandchildren.
