Lora M. Hermon, Winterset

Lora Maxine Hermon, 76, died of cancer Aug. 21, 1998, at Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral services were held Monday Aug. 24, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Lora Hermon was born Nov. 13, 1921 in Winterset to Frank B. and Leota E. (Reynolds) Duff. She married Melvin Francis Hermon on Oct. 25, 1939 at Grant City, Mo. Lora, a homemaker, had lived in Afton before returning to Winterset 15 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Wiedman (husband Glen) of Winterset, Kay Goodridge (husband Ray) of Bedford, Jean Fuller (husband Gary) of San Diego, Calif., and Lori Nelson (husband Mike) of Greenfield; two sisters, Eulah Shearer of Johnston and Carrie Harrell of Winterset; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
