Earlham Echo - July 20, 1944
On July 11, 1944 a little son came to gladden the hearts of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Comly.
How eager they looked for his coming, but he could only stay such a short while for on the morning of July 13, Lowell Dean for that was his name, slipped away.
Some how we feel that the little children in the city beyond are singing today "There's a new little boy in Heaven." There is precious assurance for his father, mother and little brother Larry, as well as his grandparents and other loved ones in the Scripture as found in II Sam 12:23 "I shall go to Him but he shall not return to me."
Short funeral service was held Thursday evening at the Comly home conducted by the Bear Creek pastor, Rev. John McCracken. Alma Mapes and Gertrude Conrad sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" with Berneice Hadley at the piano.
Burial in the Earlham cemetery.
