From the St. Charles News, we learn of the death of Wm. Guilliams who was one of the early settlers of Madison county, formerly living just west of Patterson on the Des Moines road.

He was born in Putnam county, Indiana, April 15, 1840 and came with his parents, to Madison county, in 1852, settling on the farm now owned by the heirs of B. C. Guilliams.

He enlisted in Co. F, 4th Iowa Infantry, from Madison county, serving till the close of the civil war.

In 1864, he was married to Abigail Debord and for many years lived in and about South township and Patterson. Some few years ago, he sold his farm and moved to Missouri and later to Oklahoma. He leaves a wife and two sons, Robert and William, who are living in Oklahoma.

COUNTY NEWS – ST. CHARLES

Word was received here that William Guilliams, brother of the late B. C. Guilliams, had died at Edmonds, Oklahoma, May 27th, 1918. He was born in Putnam county, Indiana April 15, 1840, and came to Iowa in 1852.

He enlisted in Co. F, 4th Iowa Inf. And served during the war.

He was married to Miss Abigail Debord in 1864, and for many years lived in and about Patterson. Some years ago he removed to Missouri and then Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Robert and William, one sister, Mrs. Call, who is living on Oklahoma.
