Graveside services for Russell "Lloyd" Waltz, 56, Des Moines, who died Sept. 13, 1986 after an extended illness, were held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mr. Waltz was born Aug. 5, 1930 in Winterset to Luie and Lucy Avery Waltz. He spent his childhood in Winterset and joined the Marines in 1951, serving in the Korean War. He was employed by Anderson, Davis Demolition-Construction Company. He retired in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Sheryl Alexander of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Eugene of Winterset, and Myles and John, both of Des Moines; and sisters, Ruby Ramarez, Marjorie Quesenberry and Annebelle Hutt, all of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
