NICK WALTZ, Winterset

Nick Waltz, 79, died May 2, 1991 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Funeral services were held Sat., May 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Father Frank Palmer officiating.

Born in Audubon April 10, 1912, Nicholas Edward Waltz was the son of Amiel and Mary (Conrad) Waltz. He married Mary Louise Little in Stuart February 7, 1934, and they came to Madison County from Stuart in 1940. He was a farmer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, three brothers, and a sister.

Surviving are his wife of Winterset; five sons, Edward C. of Sioux City, James F. of Norwalk, Donald D. of Des Moines, Daniel R. of Winterset, and Kenneth W. of Lorimor; two daughters, Betty Overton of Des Moines and Marilyn Lyddon of Norwalk; five brothers, Frank of Winterset, John of Greenfield, Henry and Leo, both of California, and Louis of Stuart; two sisters, Marie Farrell of Menlo and Catherine Philbin of Omaha; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
