MARY WALTZ, Winterset

Mary L. Waltz, 77, of Winterset, died March 12, 1994 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A funeral mass was held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church March 15, 1994 with Father Tom Dooley officiating. Burial as at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born August 24, 1916 in Adair County to Arthur and Louie Belle (Ellis) Little. She married Nicholas Edward Waltz on February 7, 1934 in Stuart. She was a homemaker and former cook for a nursing home. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Kathleen Holliday; and one brother, John Little.

Surviving relatives include five sons, Edward Waltz and wife Kay of Sioux City, Jim Waltz and wife Sondra of Norwalk, Don Waltz and wife Debra of Des Moines, Dan Waltz and wife Toni of Winterset, and Ken Waltz and wife Connie of Lorimor; two daughters, Betty Overton and husband Keith of Des Moines, Marilyn Lyddon and husband Cliel of Norwalk; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
