Edward Charles Waltz, 66, of Sioux City died Oct. 20, 2002.
A funeral Mass was held Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City, with Father Gary Snyder officiating.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.
Edward Waltz was born June 11, 1936, to Nick E. and Mary L. (Little) Waltz in Adair County. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1954. On June 6, 1959, he mrried E. Kay Thompson in LeMars. He was employed with the City of Sioux City for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and at one time had been active in Boy Scouts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by Kay; two sons, Scott (wife June) of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Mark (wife Barbara) of Merrill; two daughters, Teresa (companion Fred Forney) of Sioux City and Janice (husband Paul Thompson) of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, James (wife Sondra) of Norwalk, Donald (wife Debbie) of Des Moines, Daniel (wife Toni) of Winterset and Kenneth (wife Connie) of Lorimor; two sisters, Betty Overton (husband Keith) of Des Moines and Marilyn Lyddon (husband Cliel) of Norwalk; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City.
