Maud M. Howell, 81 died Sunday, October 7, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, at Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Mt. Pelier Cemetery, Rev. Charles Updike officiated.
The daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Fisher Lamb, she was born in Clark County on March 8, 1898. On July 12, 1923 in Madison County, she married Carroll Howell who preceded her in death on July 29, 1957.
Resident of Madison County most of her life, Mrs. Howell was a member of Thursday Girls in Truro and the 60 Plus Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Floyd, a grandchild and three great-grandchildren
Surviving are three sons, Doyle of Loveland, Colorado, Delbert of Winterset, and Morris of Van Meter; three daughters, Ethel Mae Strable of DeSoto, Margaret Dillinger of DeSoto, and Geraldine Lee of Winterset, a brother Enos Lamb of Humeston; two sisters, Lilly Beakler of Humeston and Opal Nickoll of Des Moines; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
