Betty Dorrell Died Tuesday

Mrs. Ronald (Betty) Dorrell of Winterset died Tuesday morning, October 9 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 52 years of age.

She is survived by her husband, five children, Richard Wise of Winterset, Mrs. Connie Hackley of De Soto, Mrs. Linda Wagner of Winterset, Ronald E. Dorrell of Winterset, and Mrs. Amy Sawyers of Winterset, eight grandchildren, one sister, Velma Hendricks of Winterset, three brothers, Ralph Hern of Winterset, Jack Hern of the Waterloo area, and Cy Hern of Indianola.

Funeral services are pending at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Funeral Thursday For Betty Dorrell

Funeral services for Betty Irene Dorrell of Winterset were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, at the first Christian Church, of which she was a member. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with Rev. David Livingston officiating. Mrs. Dorrell died Tuesday, October 9, at Madison county Memorial Hospital at the age of 52.

Born on November 26, 1926 at Cedar Falls, she was the daughter of William E. and Daisy Mae Young Hern. She was married to Ronald Dorrell on September 19, 1946 in Kansas City, Kan,

A lifelong resident here, Mrs. Dorrell was a member of the V F W Auxiliary for 32 years and the Queen Esther Rachael Group of the Madison County Hospital Auxiliary. She had worked at the Winterset Madisonian for five years and the Meals on Wheels program for one year.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters.
