Sophia Louise Johnson was born in Hulsfred, Sweden, March 21st, 1863, came to America at the age of 20, coming direct to Des Moines and living one year in that city.

She was united in marriage to Lee Jacobson December 5, 1884. Coming to this vicinity to live.

She leaves to mourn her loss three sons, Arthur of Des Moines, Charles of West Des Moines and Elmer of Earlham, Two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Colles of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Olga McGarrigle of Des Moines, with whom she made her home for the past three years. There also survives fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Three weeks ago she was confined to her bed, where she passed quietly away April the 14th, 1945, at the age of 82 years and 24 days. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, attending when she was able. She was a most faithful and loving mother and will be greatly missed in the home.

Services were held in the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. S. R. Overholser and burial was in North Branch cemetery.
