Wallace L. Hatfield, Colorado

Wallace Hatfield, 63, of Lakewood, Colo., died from acute heart failure Jan. 10, 2000 at his home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 13, at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church in Lakewood. Burial was at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver with military rites. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Macksburg United Methodist Church.

Wallace Hatfield was born June 6, 1936, to Frank and Velma (Wallace) Hatfield. He entered the Navy following his graduation from Macksburg High School in 1954. Following his discharge, Wallace moved to Colorado and was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for over 31 years. He later was employed for seven years with the federal government, retiring in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his wife Louise of Lakewood; his father of Winterset; a son, Cory Cason of Lakewood; a daughter, Carol Foos (husband) Rich) of Littleton, Colo.; two brothers, Dennis (wife Joyce) of Davenport and Dale (wife Mary) of Dexter; and four granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Macksburg United Methodist Church.

Wallace Lee Hatfield of Lakewood, a retired railroad employee, died Jan. 10 at home. He was 63.

Mass was said Jan. 13 at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church, Lakewood. Interment was in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

He was born June 6, 1936, in Macksburg, Iowa. He served in the Navy and attended business school.

He had been a transportation clerk with the Santa Fe Railroad.

His interests included sports, history, travel and reading.

He is survived by a son, Cory Cason, Lakewood; a daughter, Carol Foos, Littleton; his father, Frank, Winterset, Iowa; two brothers, Dennis, Davenport, Iowa, and Dale, Dexter, Iowa; and four granddaughters.
