July 1, 1953MRS. H. A. WARNER, Former Winterset Resident Dies
Mrs. H. A. Warner, former Winterset resident, died Friday morning, May 29th, at the Cresco hospital, following a short illness, caused by a heart attack. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs. Warner, the former Ellen Marian Law, was born in Pennsylvania, and lived there until her marriage to Herman Warner, February 7, 1894. Following their marriage, they moved to Winterset where he was in the dry goods business, and they resided in the house on West Court avenue, now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Graham.
In 1902, the Warners moved to Decorah, where they were in the dry goods business, and a ready to wear firm with Mrs. Bertha Mott. A few years later they opened a store in Cresco, and that town has since been their home.
Mr. Warner died in 1923, and she is survived by two sons, Barton K. Warner of Cresco, Charles of Creson, Pennsylvania. She also leaves two granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
Funeral and burial services were held in Creston, June 1st.
