Atholl I. Harris, the daughter of Clyde and Mabel Beaver Campfield, was born May 12, 1902 in Adair County, Iowa. She passed away July 23, 1981 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset where she had been a patient for several days.
Atholl spent her early years in Oklahoma. At the age of 13 she moved back to Iowa with her family.
In 1921 she graduated from Anita High School. She also graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught school for three years.
On August 11, 1923 Atholl was united in marriage to Merritt Harris in Atlantic, Iowa. Three sons blessed this marriage.
Atholl was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ.
Survivors include her loving husband Merritt; three sons, Roy and Ted of Earlham and Don of Van Meter; eight grandchildren and one half-sister, Mrs. Lela York of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and half brother, Kenneth Johnston.
Private graveside services were held July 25, 1981 at the Earlham cemetery with the Rev. L. Neal Hanley officiating. Casket bearers were Roy Harris, Ted Harris, Don Harris, Kim Harris, Mark Harris and Jack Harris.
