Edwin Conger Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Ross, was born near Penn Center, Madison county, Iowa, March 5, 1875, and passed away at a hospital in Colby, Kansas, August 5, 1946, at the age of 71 years and 5 months. He had been in failing health for three years due to paralysis and complications.

The family resided for many years on a farm three miles west of Earlham where Edwin attended rural school. Later he was graduated from the Earlham Academy. He then attended college in Des Moines and at Los Angeles, Calif.

He was united in marriage with Florence H. Zengler of Canton, Ohio, at Los Angeles, Calif., in June of 1906. For the past thirty years Mrs. and Mrs. Ross had resided at Selden, Kansas.

Mr. Ross is survived by his wife at Selden, one sister, Mrs. B. Ensley, (Marie) of Shellrock, Iowa, three brothers, Jess A. Ross of Dexter, Will G. Ross of Palo Alto, Calif., and R. L. Ross of Pomeroy, Iowa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert L. Ross and George F. Ross.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ross of Pomeroy and Jess A. Ross of Dexter attended the funeral rites which were held at Selden, Kansas on Wednesday, August 7.
