Harry Leach Olson was born August 10, 1878 at Granville, Illinois, and passed away at his home northwest of Winterset, Iowa on August 22, 1946. His death was preceded by a very serious heart ailment which confined him to his bed for about two weeks.
Harry Olson, in company with his parents, Mons and Mary Olson, moved from Illinois to the Worthington neighborhood where he and his brother lived together for several years.
He was married to Blanche Velma Bowlsby on June 6, 1906 and to this union four children were born, Mrs. Frank Smith of Norwalk, Ia; Lawrence Olson of Winston Place, New York, Mrs. Harrold Beaman of Earlham, Iowa; Edwin H. Olson of Ames, Iowa.
Deceased was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Jenny and Mae, and two brothers, Joseph and Edwin.
Mr. Olson had been an elder and Sunday School teacher in the Winterset Church of Christ prior to the time he moved to the farm northwest of Winterset. He then transferred his membership to the Early Chapel Church of Christ. In this church he also became an elder and Bible School teacher of the Young People's Class.
Mr. Olson will be remembered by his many friends and acquaintances as one who joyfully gave his life in service to the church.
Funeral services were held at Early Chapel Church of Christ on August 24, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Fogelsong officiating.
The body was laid at rest in the Worthington Cemetery.
