Ada L. Harger, Truro

Ada Lorraine Harger, 78, of Truro died of cancer Feb. 3 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro with the Rev. Richard Harbart officiating. Burial took place at Van Wert Cemetery.

Ada L. Harger was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Pittsburg, Kans., to Harley and Grace Eagleton Houghton. On Dec. 14, 1934, she married Herman Harger. She retired from the Truro schools as a cook and from Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Iowa Methodist Medical Center as a housemother. She was a member of the Truro Forklifters and the United Methodist Church of Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son and a grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Harger (wife Lois) of Eagle Grove and Herman Harger (wife Tonya) of Leon; a sister, Essie Bartholomew of DuQuoin, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home of Osceola.
