Services for Forrest H. Hardisty, 80, Winterset, who died in an accident here April 11, were held Wednesday, April 13, at the Goodwin-Lindsay Funeral Home at Corning. Burial was at the Carl Cemetery, Carl, Iowa.
Born Mar. 8, 1903 at Carbon, Iowa, he was the son of Elmar and Maggie Mack Hardisty. He grew up in Adams and Adair counties and was married Aug. 27, 1923 to Marie Dillon. Mr. Hardisty farmed until 1952 and took up carpentry and worked in construction until he retired. On April 18, 1973, he was married to Marjorie Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; sons, Delmar and wife, Mary, Darwin and wife Margaret, and Donald and wife, Donna; a step-daughter, Carol Morris of Des Moines; sisters, Florence Nielson and Mrs. Clem (Vera) Mitchell of Winterset, Mrs. Paul (Ida) Black of Silver City, Mrs. Max (Darlene) Hulin and Evelyn Hardisty of Council Bluffs, three grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
