MARJORIE WARREN, Cedar Rapids

Marjorie L. Warren, 83, of Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids and former 60-year resident of Des Moines, died July 22, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness.

Marjorie Warren was born March 26, 1921, in Winterset to Charles and Hazel (Reese) Barrus Sr. On May 29, 1948, she married Thomas F. Warren in Des Moines. Marjorie worked in the dietary department at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines from 1973 until 1986. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Mercy Hospital Retirees' Luncheon in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Gene Barrus, Charles Barrus Jr. and Dale Barrus; and four sisters, Mary Ann Bond, Dorothy Allgeyer, Edna O'Farrell and Ruth Heimke.

She is survived by one daughter, Marla Valliere of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Betty Southwick of Pueblo, Colo.; and three granddaughters.
