Wednesday, May 27, 1964LULU M. BARBER Dies At 82 Years
Mrs. Lulu M. Barber of Winterset, died Sunday, May 24, 1964, at a nursing home here. She was 82 years of age.
Mrs. Barber had been a resident of Madison county for most of her life. She was born here Sept. 25, 1881, a daughter of Edward and Katherine Fisher Shutt. She was married Jan. 30, 1901, to George W. Barber. He preceded her in death in 1950.
Early in life she joined the Providence chapel, and later was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Walter Barber of West Des Moines; and a daughter, Mrs. Mae Strable of Prole. Another son, Russell Barber, died in 1956.
She also leaves eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Edd Shutt of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Nida Fletcher of Des Moines and Mrs. Edith Young of Bellevue, Nebr.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Arthur Nazel of Atlantic. Burial was to be made in the Union Chapel South cemetery.
