Death of W. M. A. Nelson

W. M. A. Nelson, who has been seriously ill, for five days, died at the Winterset hospital early last Thursday morning, March 19th. He was 70 years of age. Mr. Nelson had been in poor health for several years, but was able to attend to his regular duties. He became critically ill, Saturday, March 14th, with flu and complications, however, and (unreadable).

The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted his funeral services Saturday afternoon, March 21st, at 2 o’clock, at the church, and burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was born in Morgan county, Ohio, August 28, 1860. At La Foon, South Dakota, he was married to Miss Eliza Golden on April 8, 1886. Five years later they came to Madison county, where they have since resided.

Surviving members of his family, are his wife, and five children: Guy Nelson, and Bert Nelson of Lorimor; Seth Nelson, Mrs. Maude Frederickson and Mrs. Bertha Ham of Winterset. He also leaves a half-sister, Mrs. Rosa Taylor of Thayer.

MORTUARY

W. M. A. Nelson

W. M. A. Nelson, son of Seth and Hannah J. Nelson, passed away at the Winterset hospital Thursday morning at 6:15, after an illness of five days.

He had been in poor health for several years, having suffered a stroke of paralysis six years ago.

He was born August 28, 1860, in Morgan county, Ohio, being one of a family of eight brothers and sisters, all of whom have preceded him in death with the exception of one half-sister, Mrs. Rosa Taylor, of Thayer, Iowa.

Mr. Nelson was married April 8, 1886, to Miss Eliza Golden at La Foon, South Dakota, and resided there for five years, after which they moved to Iowa. For the past thirty-one years they have lived in Madison county, where their family has grown to manhood and womanhood.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and five children: Guy Nelson, Bert Nelson, both of Lorimor, Seth Nelson, Mrs. Maude Frederickson, and Mrs. Bertha Ham of Winterset. Also eight grandchildren survive him.

While he never publicly accepted Christ as his Savior, he was a firm believer in the faith, and read his Bible daily.

During his long life of toil and hardship, he always proved to be a true, kind husband, and a loving father, always self-sacrificing and thinking of his home and children.

Had Lived In County 35 Years. Services Saturday, Burial At Peru

Services for W. M. A. Nelson whose death occurred Thursday morning of last week, after an illness of five days, were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock at the Methodist church. The pastor, the Rev. A. P. Keast was in charge with burial in the Peru Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was the son of Seth and Hannah J. Nelson. He was born August 28, 1860 in Morgan county, Ohio. He was the last of a family of eight brothers and sisters with the exception of a half-sister, Mrs. Rosa Taylor of Thayer, Iowa.

He was married April 8, 1886 to Miss Eliza Golden at La Foon, South Dakota. The couple lived at La Foon five years moving then to Iowa where they spent three years in Harrison county and five years in Union county before making their home in Madison County. For the past thirty-five years they made their home here where the family has grown to manhood and womanhood.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife and five children, Guy Nelson and Bert Nelson, both the Lorimor; Seth Nelson, Mrs. Maude Frederickson and Mrs. Bertha Ham of Winterset, and eight grandchildren.
