Funeral services for Fred Hamner, a former Winterset resident, were held Wednesday, Feb. 15, from the Timeon Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa.
Mr. Hamner died Feb. 12 at the age of 71.
A son of David Edward and Lisa Bell Hamner, he was born in Madison county on July 4th, 1906.
He moved to Des Moines shortly after World War II, and had resided in Perry the past five years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two daughters; two brothers, George and Walter Hamner of Winterset; three sisters, Eva Wagner of Winterset, Vernie Hammack and Laura Rodriguez of California.
Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Services for Fred Hamner, 71, of Perry, a former Des Moines resident who died of cancer Sunday at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Timeon Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Winterset Cemetery.
Mr. Hamner, a native of Winterset, was a retired employee of A.Y. McDonald Manufacturing Co. He lived in Des Moines about 10 years before moving to Perry about 12 years ago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Perry Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Pat Davis and Sherry Clark, both of Des Moines; a stepson, Timothy Thoren of Perry; a stepdaughter, Kathy Lame of Des Moines; three sisters, Verine Hammack and Laura Rodriguez, both of San Diego, Calif., and Eva Wagner of Winterset; two brothers, Walter and George, both of Winterset; and 10 grandchildren.
