George Hamner, Winterset

Services for George Hamner, 82, Winterset, who died Sept. 9 at Madison County Memorial hospital were held Thursday, Sept. 11 at Collins Funeral home with the Rev. Bob Brite officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Born Feb. 22, 1904, at Winterset, he was the son of David and Eliza Robinson Hamner. A retired custom butcher, Mr. Hamner was married to Clara Wagner on June 27, 1925 at the First Christian Church in Winterset.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Harvey of Des Moines and Ron of Winterset; a daughter, Ruby M. Patterson of Winterset; a brother, Walter of Winterset; sisters, Eva Wagner of Winterset and Laura Rodriguez of National City, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
