Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Kathryn D. Preston, 89, who died Saturday, May 6, 1978, at Hampton Nursing Home in Hampton, Iowa. She was born May 3, 1889, in Winterset, the daughter of Levi and Catherine Henning Davis.

Mrs. Preston was a housewife who spent most of her life in Madison County. She moved to Hampton eight years ago. She attended rural schools and was married to Ernest Preston on March 8, 1908, in rural Winterset. She was affiliated with the Methodist congregation at Van Meter.

Survivors include a son, Levi Preston of Hampton; two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, three brothers and three sisters.

Officiating at Tuesday's funeral services was Rev. Ellis Andrews.

Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
