Wednesday, August 30, 2000Marvyl Sheriff, 76, died of renal failure Aug. 23, 2000, at the Center for Longterm Care in Polk City where she had been a resident since 1993.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 25, at Penn Center Church near Earlham. Burial was at Penn Center Church cemetery.
Marvyl Sheriff was born Sept. 4, 1923, to Gerald and Hazel Mullins of rural Earlham. A 1940 graduate of Winterset High School, she attended nursing school in Paris, Texas. Marvyl, who was retired, had been employed as a nurse at both the Stuart and Adel care centers. Prior to moving to Polk City, she had resided in the Winterset and Dexter areas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a son, Curtis Sheriff of Des Moines; a daughter, Crystal Lister of Earlham; a brother, Lisle Mullins of Alba, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributrions may be directed to Penn Center Church.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Fisher Funeral Home, Van Meter.
