DONALD L. WELTHA, Arkansas

Donald Lee Weltha, 48, of Omaha, Ark., died Nov. 13, 2000, at his home. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Donald Weltha was born Feb. 14, 1952, to William Carroll and Jeneta Tresa (Mottet) Weltha of Estherville. A 1970 graduate of Winterset High School, he had worked as a songwriter, singer and guitarist with "Indian Summer," a well-known band in southwest Missouri and central Iowa in the 1970s and '80s. He also had worked as an amphibian tour driver for The Ducks in Branson, Mo., and most recently was a school bus driver in the Harrison, Ark., School District.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by his parents of Winterset; three daughters, Aleah Weltha, Katherine Weltha and Morgan Weltha, all of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Donald Lee (D.J.) Weltha, Jr. of Springfield, Mo.; four brothers, Steve Weltha (wife Cathy) and Roger Weltha (wife Cheryl), both of Winterset, Billy Weltha (wife Carole) of Patterson and Lynn Weltha (wife Holly) of Columbia, Mo.; and three sisters, Lana Drebes (husband Mike) and Gina Pyse (husband Rob), both of Palmyra, Mo., and Brenda Graves (husband Bill) of Philadelphia, Mo.
