JANE JONES-CORD

Sarah Jane Foshier was born May 31, 1846 in Blakeburg, Putnam county, Indiana and died March 25, 1917 at her home in Winterset.

The Foshier family came to Iowa in 1849, the subject of this sketch being married to Jacob Jones in 1868. To them were born five children, one dying in infancy, Mrs. Ollie Smith died in 1899 and Josephine in 1892. The two sons are Walter David of Patterson and Frank L. of Creston. A brother, J.E. Foshier lives at Pleasantville, and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Cooper, at Downs, Kansas.

She was married about three years ago to William Cord of Des Moines. For many years Mrs. Cord was a member of the Baptist church. Paralysis came upon her and caused her death.

Funeral services were held at her home on Tuesday afternoon, March 27th, Dr. J. S. Corkey conducting.

Mrs. Jane Foshier Jones died at her home in Winterset on March 25th at the age of 71 years.

Her parents came from Indiana to Iowa in 1849, her marriage to Jacob Jones taking place in 1868.

One daughter, Mrs. Ollie Jones, died 18 years ago, another daughter, Josephine, dying three years later. Walter D. of Patterson and Frank L. of Creston, are the remaining members of the family.

Mrs. Jones had been stricken with paralysis, which ultimately caused her death. On the morning of her death she walked out in the yard and seemed to be as well as usual.

Rev. J. S. Corkey conducted the funeral services at her home Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock.
