Wednesday, March 28, 1917Isaac Griffith, whose sickness was noted last week passed away on Saturday afternoon at his home just northwest of the city, at the age of forty-seven years. Mr. Griffith contracted pneumonia and succumbed to that dreaded disease after a brief illness of one week.
He was a very energetic man and a native of this state coming here from Jefferson county, the place of his birth, with his parents when a little more than a year old.
His entire life has been spent on the farm with the exception of about three years when he was associated in the implement business with his brother, David, at Van Meter.
He was married to Miss Minnie Snyder on December 26, 1892, and to them were born three children, Mrs. Winifred Weiss, and David A. and Hester Griffith, who with his aged mother of this city, and three brothers and one sister, and other relatives are left to mourn the early departure of a loved one.
Mr. Griffith confessed his faith and identified himself with the Methodist church while living at Van Meter.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. B. Burton at the Church of Christ Monday afternoon and interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Isaac H. Griffith was born in Jefferson county, Iowa, September 5, 1869. Passed from earth life on March 24, 1917. He was 47 years, 6 months and 19 days old.
He was married to Minnie Snyder December 26, 1892. To this union were born three children, Winnie, now Mrs. Arthur Weiss, David A. and Hester.
He leaves his wife, three children, his mother, Hester Ellen Griffith, three brothers and one sister. His father passed away January 9, 1916. One brother and one sister passed on a number of years ago.
